Just Build! Speed, Gravity and Fusion Coil Ranking

Which coil to buy first in Just Build! - and when Fusion Coil earns the extra Robux.

Last updated:

Coils Tier List

Coils are the classic Roblox movement layer inside Just Build!. This page ranks Speed Coil (~99 Robux), Gravity Coil (~99 Robux), and Fusion Coil (~149 Robux) for builders who need faster plot traversal without immediately jumping to Grapple Hook, Flying Cloud, or Flying Carpet. Prices are approximate - confirm in the live store. For the full shelf see All Gamepasses; for buy-order context see Best Value; for non-coil flight tools see Mobility Tools; hub home is Gamepasses.

Just Build! autosaves and supports online co-op up to eight players. Coils help individuals move; they do not replace planning, and they are unrelated to promo codes (there are no active codes you should wait for - check Codes only for status).

Ranking criteria

We rank coils for builder utility, not for race leaderboards:

  • Time saved walking long facades and material routes
  • Confidence on scaffolds, roofs, and unfinished stairs
  • Comfort during long sessions on PC or mobile (Controls Hub)
  • Robux efficiency versus owning multiple overlapping passes
  • How often the coil stays equipped while you actually place blocks

Current coil tier list

S tier - Speed Coil (~99 Robux)

Speed Coil is the default first coil for most Just Build! players. Large collaborative plots punish slow walking. When you are iterating on streets, running between friends builds in an eight-player server, or ferrying yourself across a wide baseplate, horizontal speed is the friction you feel every minute. Speed Coil approximate price sits in a friendly band next to Gravity Coil, so the question is rarely can I afford Speed and more is speed my real pain. For open horizontal maps, yes.

Best for: wide cities, campus layouts, repeatedly crossing the same avenue, co-op meetups. Skip first if: you mostly struggle with jumping onto tall scaffolds or controlling falls - then read Gravity Coil below.

A tier - Gravity Coil (~99 Robux)

Gravity Coil shines when your builds go vertical early. Softened jump and fall behaviour helps you hop ledges, recover from misclicks near edges, and work mid-structure without treating every mistake like a soft reset. On dense multi-storey projects - especially before anyone owns Higher Build - Gravity Coil can feel more builder specialised than raw sprint speed.

Best for: scaffolding, roof detailing, cliffside homes, vertical villas. Skip first if: your plots are flat and your main complaint is travel time between distant props.

A/B tier - Fusion Coil (~149 Robux)

Fusion Coil costs more (~149 approximate) because it targets the combined fantasy of the coil family. It lands in A tier when it truly replaces both single coils for your hands, and B tier when you only needed one effect. The value trap is buying Speed + Gravity + Fusion out of completionism. The smart path is:

  1. Main Speed or Gravity for several sessions.
  2. If you constantly wish you had the other effect, evaluate Fusion as a consolidator.
  3. If Fusion live behaviour overlaps awkwardly with 2x Run Speed or flight gadgets you already own, pause and re-read Best Value.

Best for: players who already know they want both coil feels and prefer one equip. Skip first if: you have never tried a single coil - spend ~99 learning which axis you care about.

Coils versus other movement passes

NeedPrefer firstWhy
Faster walking everywhereSpeed Coil or 2x Run SpeedHorizontal pace; test overlap in-game
Safer vertical hopsGravity CoilScaffold and roof work

Hook / swing travelGrapple HookDifferent fantasy - see mobility page
Sustained flightFlying Cloud / CarpetNot a coil substitute

Do not assume coils obsolete Grapple Hook or Flying Carpet. Coils keep you in a running-builder loop; gadgets change how you approach sky volumes. Many strong players own one coil lane plus one gadget lane eventually - not every SKU on day one. Details for gadgets live on Mobility Tools.

Co-op coil etiquette

In a full eight-player server, coils make it easy to zip through unfinished rooms. Agree on:

  • No high-speed collisions through delicate furniture clusters
  • Who scouts the map versus who stays planting foundations
  • Whether Ban Hammer novelty play mixes with coil chasing (usually: keep them separate)

Autosave protects progress from disconnects, not from chaotic movement near fragile builds. Combine coil use with calm camera habits from PC Controls or Mobile Controls.

Practical drills before you buy another coil

  1. Street sprint drill: Place two landmarks far apart; time ten round trips with and without Speed Coil (or after purchase).
  2. Scaffold drill: Build a temporary tower and practice ledge hops with Gravity Coil focus.
  3. Fusion audit: After owning Fusion, unequip it for a session - if you do not miss a specific missing effect, you did not need the upgrade yet.
  4. Guide loop: Apply movement savings to actual construction goals from Guides and Builds, or track tasks in Tools.
  1. Choose Speed or Gravity based on flat versus vertical pain.
  2. Live with it across multiple autosave sessions.
  3. Consider Fusion only if you keep needing the other axis.
  4. Revisit non-coil options on Mobility Tools before a third movement purchase.
  5. Keep the master price list updated via All Gamepasses.

Coils are force multipliers for attention, not substitutes for design taste. Buy the coil that matches the axis you travel most, verify Robux in-game, and let Fusion earn its upgrade instead of assuming the middle price is automatically mid-tier value.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Should I buy Speed Coil or Gravity Coil first?

Buy Speed Coil first for wide, flat plots and constant horizontal travel. Buy Gravity Coil first if scaffolding, roofs, and jumps are your main frustration.

Is Fusion Coil worth 149 Robux?

It can be, if you already know you want both coil effects in one equip. It is weaker value if you have never tried a single ~99 coil or if other movement passes already cover your needs. Verify the live price.

Do coils replace Grapple Hook or Flying Cloud?

No. Coils improve run and jump-style movement. Grapple and flight gadgets solve different traversal problems - compare them on the Mobility Tools page.

Can I use coils in co-op with eight players?

Yes. Coils are personal movement unlocks. Agree on etiquette so high-speed movement does not wreck delicate group builds.
